According to him, Popcaan never begged him for a feature as was being suggested by the blog but rather, the Jamaican artiste was trying to help push Ghana’s music industry.

Shatta Wale went on to say that some of these publications was the reason he had left Ghana and is currently having fun in the United States of America because such posts may cause him to commit a sin.

The Ayoo hitmaker questioned when Ghanaians would learn and stop taking things and misrepresenting them when they were not the case at all.

He added that the blogger could have done justice to the story by rather thanking Popcaan for throwing the spotlight on Shatta Wale instead of making the Jamaican look bad.

3Music Awards Needs To Be Applauded For Recognising And Promoting Alternate Music In Ghana – Music Enthusiast

Ghanaian music enthusiast and entertainment pundit, Prince Opoku Frimpong has highlighted the pivotal role that 3Music Awards is playing in the music industry due to their promotion and recognition of alternate sound.

Prince Opoku took to social media to speak on the matter following many complaints of lack of support for burgeoning and upcoming artistes.

According to him, upcoming artistes in countries like Nigeria are given enough platform to shine and they are given the necessary support to make it into mainstream music.

He however said the situation was not the same in Ghana since it appeared we were only practicing a “one-way” system where an artiste would only be recognized if he produces a hit song.

In continuing, Prince Opoku indicated that looking around, he has come to the realization that it is only 3Music Awards that is fully dedicated to recognize burgeoning artistes and give them a platform to be celebrated for their hard work.

He then went on to quiz if the longstanding “one-way” to fame canker in the Ghana music industry was the fault of the media or the audience who give ear to whatever content is produced.

Prince Opoku in his post highlighted the talent of a young Nigerian musician who is receiving the necessary push which would cause him to blow out soon.

His post on Facebook read: “Chanced on his music over the weekend and I have been hooked ever since. The name is Chike and his sound is unique, This got me thinking. Nigerians make a conscious effort to introduce alternate sounds to their music space and these up and coming ones receive all the support they need to maintain that space. Can we say the same for our Ghanaian music space? Is it not the oneway kind of system, where you need to have a hit to be talked about? Do we have space for alternative music? This is why i applaud #3musicawards for coming up with such an amazing category to appreciate people doing that kind of music, afterall, they stand a chance of winning Grammys oneday.Who do we blame, the media or the audience?Just some questions we all need to find answers to? Have a blessed Monday.”
