Award-winning Ghanaian sports journalist, Gary AL-Smith has given some golden advice to Ghanaian artistes who dream of winning Grammys.
In a Facebook post and sightwed by YEN.com.gh, the journalist indicated that talent was not enough to win world-acclaimed awards like BET and Grammys.

According to him, the two most important aspects that Ghanaian artistes need to focus on are branding and networking or connections.
He indicated that this is the secret of the Nigerian acts who are winning some of these top awards.
Gary Al-Smith gave the typical example of Ghana’s very own Rocky Dawuni who used his branding and networking outside Ghana to gain worldwide prominence and recognition.

The celebrated sports journo also cited the Nigerian examples of Burna Boy and Wizkid who have all seen the light and doing things the right way.
Gary Al-Smith however acknowledged the fact that the likes of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Sarkodie have contributed and are still contributing their quotas to taking Ghanaian craft to the rest of the world.

His comments come on the back of Wizkid winning a Grammy award following his collaboration with American superstar, Beyonce.
